Safari In Details
Upon arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA), you'll be warmly greeted by your safari guide and transferred to your hotel in Nairobi. After a brief rest and orientation, embark on a scenic drive to the Masai Mara National Reserve, one of Kenya's most iconic wildlife destinations. Check into your comfortable lodge or tented camp and enjoy a welcome dinner as you prepare for your unforgettable safari adventure.
Wake up to the sounds of the African bush and enjoy a delicious breakfast before heading out on your first game drive. The Masai Mara is renowned for its abundant wildlife, and you'll have the opportunity to spot the Big Five (lions, leopards, elephants, rhinoceroses, and buffalos) as well as other fascinating creatures like cheetahs, hyenas, giraffes, and various antelope species. Spend the day exploring the vast plains and riverine habitats, capturing stunning photographs and creating unforgettable memories.
After an incredible two days in the Masai Mara, it’s time to explore another of Kenya’s gems – Lake Nakuru National Park. Depart Masai Mara and head towards Lake Nakuru, a journey that takes about 5-6 hours. En route, enjoy the scenic drive and look out for the diverse landscapes of the Great Rift Valley.
Lake Nakuru is famous for its flocks of flamingos that line the shores, creating a stunning pink panorama. The park is also a sanctuary for rhinos, providing a rare chance to see these magnificent creatures up close. Embark on a game drive around the lake. Besides flamingos, you might spot white and black rhinos, Rothschild giraffes, and a variety of antelope species.
Amboseli National Park, known for its stunning views of Mount Kilimanjaro, is your next destination. Start your day with breakfast and a final game drive in Lake Nakuru before departing for Amboseli National Park. The drive is approximately 6-7 hours, so sit back and enjoy the changing landscapes as you head towards the southern part of Kenya.
Arrive in Amboseli in the afternoon and check in at your lodge. After lunch and some rest, set out for an afternoon game drive. Amboseli is particularly famous for its large herds of elephants and the incredible backdrop of Mount Kilimanjaro, Africa’s highest peak. Capture stunning photos of elephants with the snow-capped peak of Kilimanjaro in the background, a truly iconic African scene.
Enjoy an early morning game drive in Amboseli. This is the best time to see Mount Kilimanjaro in all its glory, as the mountain is often clear of clouds during the early hours. After the game drive, return to the lodge for breakfast and a leisurely morning.
In the afternoon depart for Nairobi after a relaxing morning. The drive back to the capital takes about 4-5 hours. Upon arrival in Nairobi, you’ll be transferred to your hotel or the airport for your departure flight, depending on your travel plans.
If time permits, you can explore Nairobi’s attractions, such as the Karen Blixen Museum, the Giraffe Centre, or the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust.
