Encounter Mara Camp, a posh ten-tent camp in the Mara
Naboisho Conservancy next to the Maasai Mara, is tucked away on the edge of the
savannah beneath a towering canopy of acacia trees. Even inside the camp, the
conservancy is renowned for its profusion of wildlife. Giraffes can walk just
by your tent, while zebras frequently stroll past the deck of the camp to the

nighttime game drive, cozy mattresses with additional blankets and a hot water
bottle are a pleasant sight. Private terraces with shade provide a cool respite
from the afternoon sun. Food from nearby farmers or the women’s cooperative is
used to prepare meals in the community mess tent. For guided nature walks or
game drives, you can have breakfast or lunch prepared in a picnic basket take
delight in while sheltered under a tree. The Ol Pejeta Conservancy is home to a
wide variety of endangered species, including the last two northern white
rhinos, and has high densities of wildlife.
