This opulent home is ideally
situated with a view of the ancient Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. The best luxury
lodge in Bwindi, known as the Volcanoes Safaris’ Bwindi Lodge, offers
breathtaking views of the forest canopy across a calm creek. The green jungle
surrounding the lodge is a popular spot for the gorillas to unwind! The lodge
is in the ideal location for a unique gorilla tracking adventure in Uganda. The
opulent Bwindi woodland lodge currently has a revamped dining room and guest
lounge that infuses the chic decor with a forest-like atmosphere.
A central fireplace serves as
a focal point for guests to unwind and talk about their gorilla tracking experience
in the main living space. Birds and monkeys hiding in the greenery can be seen
from the newly created outdoor patio, which offers stunning views of the dense
forest.The eight distinct bandas, each with a unique perspective of the forest,
have been completely renovated with cozy, opulent interiors, four-poster beds,
and furnishings with a local flair. The Humula mw’ Ishamba Forest Spa is now
open.
The most fashionable and
vibrant bar is the award-winning Bwindi Bar, located on the adjacent village’s
main street nearby! Additionally, guests dine at the award-winning Bwindi Bar
on the local high street for casual tapas-style meals influenced by Ugandan
cuisine. It’s Bwindi’s Harry’s Bar! Visitors are even able to create their own
“Rolex” wrap. The bar was established to teach underprivileged local
youth hospitality skills.
The lodge features eight
glass-fronted guest bandas with thatch roofs made of plaster and timber, six of
which are doubles and two of which are twins, reflecting the architectural
character of the area. Shower rooms with hot and cold running water, a double
vanity, and a toilet that flushes. Every guest receives personal butler
service.In April 2018, the Forest Spa Humula mw’ Ishamba opened.The rooms are
equipped with 240v lights, hair dryers, charging stations, and walk-in mosquito
nets. Each Banda is named after a Bwindi gorilla.There is Wi-Fi available in
the main lodge structure.

watchers can identify up to 100 species every day. Among the many species that
are hard or impossible to find in other parts of East Africa, Bwindi is home to
90% of all Albertine Rift Endemic species, including the Short-tailed Warbler,
Rusty-faced Woodland Warbler, Bar-tailed Trogon, Gruel’s Rush Warbler,
Wilcock’s Honey-guide, Yellow-eyed Black Fly-catcher, Kivu Ground Thrush, Dusky
Crimson Wing, and White-tailed Blue Monarch.

Tour of the Community
The
tour really starts at Bwindi Lodge, where you cross the river and explore the
neighborhood. It may go on for two to three hours. During the Tour, you will
first meet a local healer who will describe the different plants they use for
medical purposes. After that, you will meet some locals who will demonstrate
how they make alcohol from banana leaves. After that, you will meet more
community members, including some members of the Batwa tribe.
