Itinerary

Your adventure begins with an early departure from Kampala, heading east towards Jinja. En route, your first stop is at Sezibwa Falls, a beautiful waterfall with cultural and historical significance. The falls are considered to be of spiritual importance by the local Buganda people. Take a guided tour to learn about the myths and legends surrounding the falls, explore the lush surrounding trails, and enjoy the serene ambiance.

Next, continue your journey to Mabira Forest, one of Uganda’s largest rainforests. Here, you can choose to take a guided nature walk through the dense forest, where you'll have the chance to spot various bird species, butterflies, and perhaps even primates like the red-tailed monkey. For the more adventurous, an optional ziplining experience is available, offering a thrilling way to see the forest from above as you soar through the canopy.

After your time in Mabira Forest, head towards Jinja, where you'll embark on a boat ride to the Source of the Nile. This relaxing cruise will take you to the very spot where the world’s longest river begins its journey northward. Enjoy the stunning views and rich birdlife as you glide along the calm waters. The boat ride provides an excellent opportunity for photography and a peaceful end to your first day of exploration. Check into your accommodation in Jinja for an overnight stay.

After an early breakfast, depart for Sipi Falls, located on the foothills of Mount Elgon. The drive takes you through picturesque landscapes, with rolling hills and fertile farmlands. Upon arriving in Sipi, you can embark on a guided hike to explore the stunning Sipi Falls. These falls consist of three cascading waterfalls located on the slopes of Mount Elgon. The hike will take you through beautiful trails, providing breathtaking views of the falls, the surrounding countryside, and the distant plains of Eastern Uganda. For those seeking an extra thrill, there is the option to participate in abseiling down one of the Sipi Falls.

In the afternoon, embark on a community coffee tour. Sipi is renowned for its high-quality Arabica coffee, and this tour offers a fascinating insight into the local coffee farming practices. Visit the coffee gardens and interact with the farmers as they explain the entire process from planting to harvesting. Participate in the traditional coffee roasting process and enjoy a fresh cup of Sipi coffee while taking in the beautiful views of the falls and the surrounding countryside. Return to your accommodation for relaxation, enjoying the cool mountain air and stunning scenery.

After breakfast, depart for Pian Upe Wildlife Reserve, one of Uganda's lesser-known but equally captivating protected areas. The journey takes you through varied landscapes, offering glimpses of rural life in Uganda. Upon arrival, check into your accommodation and have lunch.

In the afternoon, set out on a game drive in Pian Upe Reserve. This reserve is known for its diverse wildlife, including cheetahs, leopards, buffaloes, zebras, and various antelope species such as the eland and hartebeest. The open savannah and rugged terrain provide excellent opportunities for wildlife viewing and photography. Return to your accommodation for dinner and an overnight stay, surrounded by the sounds of the African wilderness.

Start your day with an early breakfast before embarking on a journey to Kidepo Valley National Park, one of Uganda’s most remote and stunning national parks. The drive offers spectacular views and a sense of adventure as you travel through the semi-arid landscape. Upon arrival in Kidepo, check into your lodge and enjoy a late lunch. In the evening, head out for a game drive in the park. Kidepo Valley is renowned for its dramatic landscapes and abundant wildlife, including lions, elephants, giraffes, and ostriches.

After the game drive, visit the Kanangorok Hot Springs, located in the northern part of the park. These natural hot springs are a geological wonder and a beautiful spot to visit as the sun sets over the horizon. Return to your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Begin your day with an early morning game drive, exploring different areas of Kidepo Valley National Park. The cool morning hours are the best time to spot predators like lions and leopards, as well as other wildlife as they begin their day. The varied landscapes of the park, from river valleys to acacia forests, provide diverse habitats for a wide range of species.

After the game drive, return to your lodge for breakfast. Later in the day, engage in a cultural encounter with the local Karamojong community. Visit a traditional Manyatta (homestead) and learn about the unique customs, traditions, and lifestyle of the Karamojong people. The community is known for its vibrant dances, intricate beadwork, and cattle herding culture. This visit offers a deep insight into the rich cultural heritage of this region. Return to your lodge for lunch and spend the afternoon relaxing or exploring more of the park on a guided nature walk.

On your final day, enjoy a leisurely morning nature walk in Kidepo Valley National Park. This walk offers a closer look at the park's flora and fauna, and a chance to appreciate the smaller details of the ecosystem that are often missed during game drives. Your guide will point out various plants, insects, and tracks, providing a deeper understanding of the natural environment.

After the nature walk, have breakfast and prepare for the long journey back to Kampala. The drive back offers one last chance to take in the stunning landscapes of northern Uganda. Depending on your schedule and preferences, you might stop for lunch en route and stretch your legs at various scenic spots.

Arrive in Kampala in the late afternoon or early evening, where you will be dropped off at your desired destination, whether it’s your hotel or Entebbe International Airport for your departure flight.
